Jerry Springer... er, Shands.

A good word to describe my extended family would be unique. Yes, unique is a good word to describe them. Last week my Dad's mom passed away, so Brooke and I had to make a trip to Memphis for a funeral. As the relatives were coming in, one who had just arrived from Indiana (thus having driven all night), walked up to the casket. Upon reaching said casket, this relative commenced wailing (hearing a cat getting abused would have been a more pleasant sound), and then stumbled back, falling into the first pew. Brooke and I were going to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she was just emotional. It's possible that she was. However, it was probably more from the alcohol. Yes, she was drunk. After driving all night. From Indiana.

So then we move on to this unique lady's daughter. She (the daughter) is 17. For the first time ever, during the visitation at the funeral home, she met her daughter, who is 5. You can do the math. Apparently her daughter was given up for adoption, and was adopted by yet another one of my extended family members. She hasn't seen her daughter at all. Until that day. Imagine the sound of abused felines again. It was unique.

After attending this funeral, I've seriously considered changing my last name to Springer. However, I think Brooke would have something to say about that. So I'm not.

On another note, I've received a few more parts for my Secret Project. Here are the pictures:

You be the Judge.

You don't have to watch the entire video, just the first 30 seconds. However, the commentary does continue to talk about how close of friends Tebow and Joiner are. So, you be the judge - did Joiner kiss Tebow?

Before & After

I've been meaning to post these pictures for a little while now, but am just now getting around to it. Most of you know that a few weeks ago we awoke to a fallen tree in our back yard. Well, it was finally removed (many thanks to my father-in-law who helped), and I rebuilt my fence two weekends ago. So, I thought I'd share the before and after pictures.

Before:

And After:

As you can see, it is a pretty big change. I'm glad that it's finally done. Now we can let Hitch in the back yard without a leash. I don't know who appreciates that more, him or us.

It's getting that time!

I was feeding my addiction the other day, and walking around Wal-Mart. Lo and behold, what did I see but Christmas decorations on the shelves! I haven't even seen any Halloween stuff on the Wal-Mart shelves, but Christmas is coming out. And since I'm such a Christmas fanatic, I see this as a good thing.

On another note, I received these in a package the other day. As far as I know, only one person knows why I have them, and it will be like that for a while. However, feel free to guess as to what they may be used for. As I work on them more, I'll post pictures of the progress.

Bad Blogger, Bad!

I've decided that I'm a bad blogger. It has been exactly 1 month since my last post. I honestly didn't realize that it had been so long. Oh well, I guess I just live a boring life. Anyway, I'll try to get something of meaning up sometime.

Maybe.

The Singing Bee

I'm now addicted to another TV show - The Singing Bee. Even though the 24 season is over, I may still watch TV.

The World Series of Pop Culture

I like Pop Culture. I like trivia games. Therefore, I like The World Series of Pop Culture. If you haven't watched it, you need to. It comes on VH1, so set your Tivo for it. Personally, I suck at the game, but I do enjoy trying to answer the questions. However, I have decided that a team consisting of Brooke, Chris Howell, and Kenny Simpson would have an excellent shot at winning it all. I'd only be good if they asked questions concerning computers or Star Trek. And since those aren't very popular categories, I'll just watch from home.

On another note, we're home from Disney World. I'll post some of my favorite pictures sometime soon.

First Post

First posts are always weird. I'm not sure how many blogs I've attempted, but in each of them I've always had trouble with the first post. What is one supposed to say in their first blog post? I'm certainly not going to give out my address, phone number, social security number, credit card info, bank accounts, or a urine sample.

So, I'm finally in the blogging world. We'll see where it goes. I'm usually good for a few months, then I get burnt out, but maybe there will be some more luck with this one. Anyway, I just realized that The Wonder Years is on, so I'm off to partake in some adolescent embarrassment.
