Jerry Springer... er, Shands.

A good word to describe my extended family would be unique. Yes, unique is a good word to describe them. Last week my Dad's mom passed away, so Brooke and I had to make a trip to Memphis for a funeral. As the relatives were coming in, one who had just arrived from Indiana (thus having driven all night), walked up to the casket. Upon reaching said casket, this relative commenced wailing (hearing a cat getting abused would have been a more pleasant sound), and then stumbled back, falling into the first pew. Brooke and I were going to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she was just emotional. It's possible that she was. However, it was probably more from the alcohol. Yes, she was drunk. After driving all night. From Indiana.

So then we move on to this unique lady's daughter. She (the daughter) is 17. For the first time ever, during the visitation at the funeral home, she met her daughter, who is 5. You can do the math. Apparently her daughter was given up for adoption, and was adopted by yet another one of my extended family members. She hasn't seen her daughter at all. Until that day. Imagine the sound of abused felines again. It was unique.

After attending this funeral, I've seriously considered changing my last name to Springer. However, I think Brooke would have something to say about that. So I'm not.

On another note, I've received a few more parts for my Secret Project. Here are the pictures:

That green thingy looks like what was inside of our house alarm...I had to look at it at 2:30 AM! The battery started beeping and was driving me crazy.

...I'm surprised it's still in one piece.

Sorry about the fam...there's always one in every family. Sounds to me that you have more than that! ;)
